What friction reducers do you have available that can provide proppant transport without breaking the bank?

Innospec offers several HiRate products that provide effective proppant transport.  More specifically, our HiRate Plus invert polymer emulsion-based friction reducer was specifically designed for ultra-fast inversion and hydration, for the purpose of delivering lower pumping pressures, higher pump rates using less product in half the time when compared to conventional systems.

In addition, HV655 is our proprietary high viscosity linear fluid system specifically designed for flexible application in slick water systems wherein the product can act as a proppant transport at increased loadings without the need for additional chemicals on location.

What is the difference between oil soluble and water soluble H2S scavengers?

In many areas, H2S exists in both the produced oil and water. Depending on the goals of the operator, OFS has the ability to utilize either chemistry to achieve production goals. For instance, an operator may be producing crude oil with an alarming amount of H2S that requires treating prior to selling to their oil purchaser. In this case, an oil soluble scavenger would more than likely prove to be the most beneficial due to the solubility properties of the product. A water soluble H2S scavenger such as triazine may still prove effective, however the dosage rates would be much higher.

In addition, OFS has the ability to alter the solubility properties of H2S scavengers based on the requirements of the well/field being treated to optimize treating rates and lower operating costs.

Do you always need a scale inhibitor in a triazine based H2S scavenger?

A generally accepted rule is to add scale inhibitor to triazine blends simply due to the high pH of the finished product which could lead to scale formation when mixed with produced brine water. Localized scale formation is common at atomization points of triazine applications because this is the first point of contact with the produced fluids from the well and the pressure differential discovered at the injection point.
