Buffers

Buffers

The composition of the fracturing fluid is of paramount importance for the fracture design to achieve predicable, stable results in a given formation. To achieve the expected results, the fracturing fluid relies on a variety of additives to help control the various parameters. Buffers are a type of additive used to control the pH of the fracture fluid.

GelTrol

Innospec’s family of GelTrolâ„¢ buffers were specifically formulated to help optimize the performance of crosslinkers and hybrid fluid systems by controlling the pH of the fluid.

Further laboratory testing is recommended to determine which buffer performs best with fluid design and to determine the optimal loadings.
